The SmartSky Networks team successfully completed a demonstration flight of the world's first 4G LTE airborne network at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska last week. Eric Brooks, VP Product Management, took part in the demonstration flight.
"Partners were successfully able to go through their customer's checklist of desired features using broadband data aboard the aircraft. This included video streaming from Netflix, YouTube and Slingbox, WiFi phone calling, FaceTime video calling and using a corporate virtual private network (VPN)." - Eric Brooks
Watch testimonial footage below from a demonstration flight that took place in January 2017 with some of SmartSky's installation partners and Early Bird customers. Users were able to experience fully unrestricted use of the internet on the SmartSky 4G LTE network. One user, Chicago Jet Group's Mike Mitera, stated "SmartSky is the best network we've worked with so far. Performance of the system was the best I've ever seen."
Representatives from Coca-Cola, Chicago Jet Group, SkyBlue Aviation, Gama Aviation, and Valhalla Aviation participated on demonstration flights.
